About the Mineral County Recorder-Auditor
Welcome to the webpage for the Mineral County Recorder-Auditor.
This office serves as a dual capacity office but also provides numerous other services to the citizens of Mineral County. As a small rural County, this is an effective and efficient way of saving taxpayer dollars. The current staff includes one full time elected official and three full time employees.
As the Recorder, I am responsible for providing the prompt service of recording public records, preservation of records and providing public access to these records. Our records date back to the establishment of Mineral County in 1911. All records are indexed by the names of the principal parties for any document or "grantee/grantor". To locate a document, you will need the name of at least one party. I am proud to offer the technology acquired and implemented in our office over the last ten years. Our official records index system is now available online dating back to January 1985. To research our records prior to 1985, I invite you to stop by our office in Hawthorne and meet our staff.
Also maintained by our office are bound copies of the Mineral County Independent News back to the 1930's and the Walker Lake Bulletin back to 1911 for research purposes.

As the Auditor, this office also serves as the accounts payable department, the payroll/personnel department and serves as the Budget Officer providing services in the budgetary and fiscal analysis aspects of the County. We maintain the fixed assets system and well as the County's corporate credit card program. These duties require an educated and knowledgeable staff to carry out the daily financial requirements of Mineral County. My current staff provides over 50 years of combined experience in these specific areas and we strive to keep up with the latest state and federal requirements to carry out this important part of our local government.
